SPMU Removal

At TLC we operate one of the best tattoo removal systems in the UK and this applies to semi-permanent make-up.

With the rise in popularity for semi-permanent make up, we're also seeing the rise in the need to remove it. There are some amazing SPMU artists but sadly some aren't so great. If you can relate to this, there's a lot we can do to help!

We can successfully treat eyebrows, scalp micro pigmentation, beauty spots etc. but we won't treat eye liner due to the need for intraocular eye shields. We won't treat lip liner either and this is because some inks are prone to oxidisation, which leads to darkening. It's not fully understood why this happens but it's a reaction to the compounds in the ink (believed to be titanium dioxide) and we can't be sure of the inks used from the outset. Whilst oxidisation does often resolve, it can be unpredictable and as lip liners mostly use pastel/white colours, it is more likely to occur.

We always carry out a thorough consultation and a patch test prior to treatment to be sure that the ink is going to respond as desired. Using our Active Q-Switch laser, we can achieve the best possible outcome for our clients. The laser generates a high-powered beam of laser light in an extremely short pulse (a nanosecond which is a billionth of a second!) This shatters the ink particles, breaking them down into smaller pieces, enabling your natural immune defences to disperse the ink.

Most people tolerate the treatment well and we have a cooling system which can make treatments more comfortable. It's usually very quick and whilst there can be swelling and slight tenderness and a (rare) risk of a blister, this is a very tried, trusted and safe method of removal.

The number of treatments required varies and we ask clients to leave a minimum of eight weeks between sessions to allow your clever body to work to disperse the ink. We'll advise you on how to care for the treatment area at the time of booking. The cost per session is £80 for eyebrows and other treatments are priced according to the size of area to be treated.

Please be reassured that it is not necessary to shave eyebrows or scalp for treatment. Also be aware that we can't treat suntanned skins.
